Portland Roasting Coffee

Doing good and making good coffee.

777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97232, USA

We’re committed to our efforts to build strong, lasting relationships with our growers. Along the way, we’ve built an intimate understanding of the lengths these farmers go to grow and harvest coffee of the highest quality. We celebrate the fact that, without producers invested in growing the highest quality coffee, no amount of effort in our roastery would be able to create the end results we’re so proud to offer you.

What Others Are Saying

Despite visiting at eight, there were not many people there. Will return with my relatives.

Portland Roasting Coffee

Heart Coffee Roasters

Great coffee for great people.

2211 E Burnside St, Portland, OR 97214, USA

Our goal is to roast consistent, user-friendly coffee, so that brewing is easy and enjoyable. All of our offerings have a specific roast profile that highlights the clarity of flavors within each coffee. During the roasting process, we focus on even development throughout the bean to maximize perceived sweetness, without over-roasting or baking the coffee dry.

What Others Are Saying

While in Portland, I stopped in for a coffee. There was nothing like blow-your-socks-off-amazing like my husband and I was told. Could it be that our expectations were too high? Regardless, it's a great place to grab a coffee. Provided clear precautions for social distancing.

Trailhead Coffee Roasters

Amazing Coffees.

118 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97232, USA

Our vision for great coffee started at the trailhead: a place where people go their own way or come together to take in the vastness and raw beauty of nature, creating memorable, lasting impressions. Wherever that trailhead is for you, we invite you to take it all in with an inspired cup brought to you by nature herself.

What Others Are Saying

The people are friendly, the chocolate is good, and the coffee is great.

Deadstock Coffee

Go ahead! Make my Coffee!

408 NW Couch St, Portland, OR 97209, USA

We are a sneaker-themed coffee shop. We make coffee, and we like shoes. Our goal is to be a hub for anyone creative or who is seeking a judgement-free, barbershop feel. You never know who's going to walk through the door so you might want to be on your game. No shoes are sold in-store, but don't rule out the possibility for future sneaker collaborations. We're happy to point you toward a store though!

What Others Are Saying

Portland's Deadstock Cafe is on the (ultra) shortlist. There's nothing else like it in terms of vibe and energy, with street style and sneakers upfront. In addition, the shop focuses on building community on the inside and out. Its uniqueness lies beyond aesthetics. At the time of this writing, only to-go will be available; however, take the time to look at the details, the art, and some merchandise. Also, the coffee and talent are top-notch, so it's a no-brainer to visit.

To take well sourced and high quality green coffee and to carefully carve out a roast style that we feel signifies what we love about specialty coffee. It’s been a quiet few years of experimenting, but we are happy to share that we are roasting and wholesaling our coffee to those that share a similar value and appreciation for specialty coffee.

    What Others Are Saying

Excellent coffee place(only take-outs). I drank Cortadito, Matcha Latte tea, and Mocha Fogo after another. Everything was great. Excellent service and price fit. I also ate their pao de queijo (cheese) waffles and it was savory.

    What Others Are Saying

It's a really great place! It's a small coffee shop that's mostly hidden in the city, but once detected (like me) it will continue to come back. In an era when coffee shops look more colorful and flashy, it's almost impossible to find a classic and unique place that is faithful to the core, serving people with excellent coffee, friendly service, and small but tasty pastries. It's refreshing.

    Courier Coffee

    Wanting Coffee.

923 SW Oak St, Portland, OR 97205, USA

Courier has been roasting coffee and biking it to the people of Portland for 8 years. We recently opened up a bar in August of 2010, where our friends Half and Half once made sandwiches, pie, and deviled eggs. We make coffee, and sell coffee whole bean, as well as run a small scratch bakery. Courier Coffee is eight people.

    What Others Are Saying

Courier coffee has been resumed, but only pour-over coffee and pastries. I wanted to try it once, but I left without anything because there is a line and the movement is quite slow. It was a pity because the coffee was delicious and the pastry was supposed to be delicious.

    Upper Left Roasters

    Art of Coffee.

1204 SE Clay St, Portland, OR 97214, USA

We opened Upper Left Roasters in 2015 in hopes of creating a vibrant meeting place for residents and visitors of Portland’s Ladd’s Addition neighborhood. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the bounty of Ladd’s Addition, Portland, and the greater Pacific Northwest. To the friendly faces of our neighbors and the tireless purveyors of the region’s renowned produce, we are greatly indebted.

    What Others Are Saying

Upper Left is a must-visit if you are in Portland! Beautiful space, great food, and great coffee. Additionally, UL is owned by women, which is a plus. If you go there, do try Cafe De Olla and get some toast while you're there. There will be no regrets!

    Public Domain

    Opening Mind. Broadening Possibilities.

603 SW Broadway, Portland, OR 97205, USA

When most of America thought all coffee came from a can, we were pursuing our dream to craft-roast exceptional coffee and cultivate a passion for it among the public. And after decades of sourcing and roasting exotic beans for other coffee shops, Public Domain Coffee was born. Public Domain specializes in hand-crafted, freshly roasted small-batch coffees from around the globe. No longer is remarkable coffee reserved for just the chosen few. Great coffee is now Public Domain.

    What Others Are Saying

We're a bit behind on the review... I hope Public Domain reopens soon! During the morning I had a soy latte and a vegan blueberry muffin (from Shoefly). In the chilly, wet morning of September, the bright colors and coziness of the store made me feel warm and welcome.

    Extracto Coffee Roasters

We want it to taste good. Really good.

2921 NE Killingsworth St, Portland, OR 97211, USA

Yes, we buy great beans from single origin sources. We care about the farm, and the farmer, and the region, and the screen…more than that, we care about the flavor…and you should too. We hand roast each bean from humble variety to super rare gem. We don’t roast dark, we don’t roast light. For us it isn’t about the extremes it is about the subtleties. We carry as many as twenty varieties at one time, this is because each bean has a unique flavor and because we love what we do that much.

    What Others Are Saying

First of all, the two people working there were very friendly and welcoming. However, the pastries and coffee were disappointing. While the almond pastry was delicious, it was not offered to be toasted. There was a lot of foam in this latte, but the art was good. There was no espresso flavor, and the milk tasted burnt (8 oz). We need a good local place, but perhaps a better barista QC would be helpful.

    One-of-a-kind Java

811 SW 6th Ave, Portland, OR 97204, USA

Unique coffee from the volcanic Mount Argopuro of East Java - innovative processing methods produce spicy-sweet notes of cinnamon chocolate and a hint of citrus, mellowed by a juicy fig-like fruit finish. Small Batch Coffee Roaster. Authentically Portland. Community Driven.

    What Others Are Saying

The price is high. Due to an allergy to milk, I was charged more when I asked for alternative substitutes. The price hike would have been apparent if I had not felt rushed to order. Yes, rushed without a line in a pandemic no less. Though I would have liked to know about the extra charge, I paid more than $5 for a 12oz cup of chai because they were so eager to take my order. Definitely buyers remorse. I will not return.

    What Others Are Saying

I have never been delighted with pastries and coffee. The mocha was delicious and perfect with not too sweet lime vegan donuts (delicious, but I liked the vegan food that my stepmother got better). The only warning I give is that the heavenly mushroom wrapping bread I got. If you are sensitive, it is spicy.
