Washington coffee roasters - Jebena Cafe

Heart of the Ethiopian coffee

The heart of the Ethiopian coffee ceremony is the Jebena, the pottery used to brew and pour coffee. Since customer service is paramount to owner Martha Seyoum, it was no coincidence she chose ‘Jebena’ as the name for her restaurant. In Ethiopia, hand-roasted coffee is always offered to visiting family and friends.

Simple. Quality. Food.

On the corner of 10th & F Streets, we are surrounded by some of DC’s most popular shopping, and just steps away from Penn Quarter sights like the Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, Ford’s Theatre and the Spy Museum. Windows line our wall facing 10th Street NW, bringing in beautiful natural light and offering a great vantage point for people watching. Take a seat at our communal table for a delicious lunch on your way to the museum, or if you’re in a hurry, pick up a healthy salad to go.

It's amazing! When I asked for a sweet tea, it wasn't on the menu. They went out of their way to make it sweet for me, it was perfect. Both the apple juice and avocado toast are fantastic. They provide great food and drinks, which I highly recommend.

It's more than a coffee shop.

We know you can get a cup of coffee just about anywhere. That’s why we distinguish our cafes by treating guests as if they are family. Run by two brothers with roots in the Midwest, The Wydown is fueled by a style of hospitality and service that never loses sight of its customers. Whether you popped in for a quick cup or want to linger over a classic cappuccino, we are thrilled that you’ve chosen to share your time with us.

The trickle (when it’s fresh) is a few of the leading I’ve had in the US but, too, like numerous places in the US small quality control. You fair got to capture it fresh. In case it’s been sitting there for some time, it’s fair at best. I wish they’d switch it out each so regularly no matter hence guaranteeing quality. Even in the you’re not into coffee, the naturally prepared cinnamon rolls on the ends of the week are worth a visit (more often than not accessible after 9-10am). Espresso isn’t my fashion but fairs an individual inclination as I like sweeter espressos. Theirs is strong on the off chance that you favor more ordinary styles.

Changing the way we look at coffee.

Our founders Todd Carmichael and J.P. Iberti built La Colombe on a simple but ambitious mission: to make the world better through coffee. What started out as a vision for serving the best coffee to the country, became an opportunity to influence meaningful change around the world. This is how we plan to make a difference.

What Others Are Saying

The coffee was fine, but the service was poor. When I walked, there was no one in the store, so I had to wait for the moment when two employees came out. The woman was a bit rude, and I scolded myself to verify if I had a tasting of my coffee and I need sugar. I took out the mask (I had more than 10 feet of someone) replaced my mask and replaced my mask. I understand that it will be cautious carefully, but when I was in a safe distance, I will replace my mask and I will not have a sign to describe the store office that does not know your coffee in the store was.

Good coffee, although it is difficult to find a parking place. Since we are in the DC area and are always looking for good coffee, this is definitely one of our best coffee shops to date. I highly recommend it, unfortunately, they don't have indoor seating, so be prepared to take it out.

Compared with other coffee shops nearby, the speed of reopening after the epidemic is very slow. Don't expect to be able to sit down and drink coffee (indoor or outdoor). Time is also very limited. Try going to Wydown or Colada 14th.

Live, Love, Be Healthy.

Kaffa region in Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, hence the similarity in name Kaffa - coffee. Coffee is called 'Bunna' (boo-na) in Ethiopia, but as the plant spread out in the area as far as the Arabian peninsula across the Red Sea, people referred to it as Kaffa or Coffee for the region it came from. We serve organic Ethiopian coffee and healthy Ethiopian dishes with Fresh Ingredients! we also sell spices, coffee beans, herbs and unique wines!

The place to eat Ethiopian food should be this one. I literally beg you to try this, you won't regret it. It is best to get the veggie plate (my favourite), however the meat is also good.

Life without Coffee is Scary.

Qualia Coffee is a small-batch roaster located in Washington DC focusing on carefully sourced single-origin estate and micro-lot beans. Roasting frequently and in small batches allows us to emphasize the natural variety of coffees from around the world. Our "farmers market" approach, delivering all of our coffee to customers within three days of roasting, means we can focus on what brings out the most flavor in each bean without worrying about shelf life.

What Others Are Saying

On our first morning in D.C., we discovered Qualia Coffee. A small, attractive storefront with seating (possibly in the Before Times? ), a counter with little baked goods, and a patio outback. We enjoyed the house coffee as well as the blueberry muffin and cheese/chive biscuit. During mid-morning, it was a beautiful and pleasantly cool patio. There is a nice selection of roasts here; we got a bag of Tanzania Kilimanjaro ground for us, and it has been very tasty.

Fantastic coffee shop with a strong Ethiopian influence. There is nothing like it at a coffee shop. It's great to have a place highlighting Ethiopian coffee! Also here I got a very tasty everything bagel. It's a cozy, quiet shop (at least what I experienced there), and the service is excellent. The restaurant also serves Ethiopian food. As it was breakfast time, I wasn't able to try that, but I would like to someday. Hopefully, I'll be back soon. #sidamo #coffee #tea #Ethiopian #cozy #everythingbagel
